Stone is a widely favored material for building façades due to its durability and aesthetic appeal. It is often used in the exterior curtain walls of malls, hotels, and high-end residences. However, in humid climates—especially during the rainy season—stone surfaces are prone to retaining moisture due to their porous structure, making them ideal breeding grounds for moss and mildew. These biological stains not only compromise the appearance of buildings but may also lead to material deterioration and discoloration over time, requiring regular maintenance and cleaning.
As the demand for frequent façade cleaning grows, more property owners and facility managers are turning to drone-based aerial cleaning systems to improve efficiency and reduce costs. While this technology offers promising advantages, many solutions in the market are still in early stages of development. In particular, tackling stubborn dirt such as moss, mold, and water stains remains a challenge for conventional drone cleaning setups. These systems often struggle with limited spraying distance and lack the pressure or cleaning technique needed for deep cleaning.

By combining high-performance small drones, flexible robotic actuators, and a patented dynamic water treatment system, a new-generation aerial cleaning solution has emerged that is specifically designed for high-rise façade maintenance. This system enables:
Zero-distance, high-pressure cleaning to effectively tackle deeply embedded moss and mildew
Multi-angle pneumatic control for reaching complex architectural surfaces without leaving blind spots
Adaptive balance and collision resistance, allowing for stable operation even under strong airflow or recoil during spraying
Thanks to this combination of close-range precision and powerful cleaning capabilities, this advanced cleaning system provides a highly effective solution for challenging surfaces such as stone façades.
In Shenzhen’s Nanshan District, a major commercial complex featuring a stone-clad exterior faced widespread moss growth following the rainy season. Manual cleaning was inefficient and costly, and previous drone-based solutions failed to deliver satisfying results due to limited proximity and cleaning pressure.
When a new intelligent cleaning solution was deployed for on-site testing, it stood out by effectively removing the moss and biological stains from the stone curtain walls in a short time. The system’s dual strengths—close-range high-pressure operation and advanced cleaning agents integrated through its water treatment module—allowed it to eliminate tough residues with precision. As a result, the property management team gave it high marks for both cleaning performance and operational efficiency.

Compared with traditional manual cleaning, this solution improved efficiency by up to 4 times while reducing costs by approximately 35%. The cleaning results met expectations, particularly in removing stubborn moss and ensuring a streak-free finish. The project successfully passed final inspection by the property management team and set a new benchmark for urban high-rise stone façade maintenance.
